Sadly, there have been a lot of fatal pedestrian accidents locally recently involving children. Like this poor toddler and this Metairie teen :-(
Pedestrian accidents are no joke! According to the NHTSA, each year nearly 5,000 pedestrians die in motor vehicle related accidents, & approximately 76,000 pedestrians in 2012 suffered injuries when hit by a car or truck.
